About learning support
The library's pedagogical department provides support for web-based learning, classes on information search strategies for students and develops teaching and learning in higher education for teachers within these areas.
The work we do
This area of work is part of the Learning and Research Support Unit (ELF). Classes on information search strategies give the students, within the framework of their studies, the opportunity to develop skills in searching for and evaluating information at a scholarly level.
We offer educational and technical support for teachers working with web-based learning courses. The unit works with Centrum för lärande och bildning (CLB) and the Study Workshop.
Our experience of working with teachers at the university on web-based learning and classes on information search strategies for students is reflected in our teaching and learning in higher education courses, seminars and workshops for teachers.
Following a review in 2002 the decision was taken, within the university, to establish the Distance and Flexible Learning Unit which would be based in the library. The unit was to be responsible for the development of programmes, courses and technical support for teachers working with web-based learning. The justification for the unit's placement within the library was that it would complement the all-encompassing pedagogical support the library provided.
